数十年、数百年後の可能性を最大限残すスケルトンビル。
富岡八幡宮などの門前町として発展した背景をもち、参詣者などを持て成す商業が栄え、現在は商店街の活動が活発な門前仲町。駅前大通りは、当時の歴史のある背景を背負い賑やかな商店が建ち並んでいる。しかし、通りから一歩入れば小さな戸建住宅が密集しているが、駅近であることから将来、商店街エリアの拡大が想定される。今回の計画地は防火地域であり、地上4 階建て・高さ10mの鉄筋コンクリート構造である耐火建築物を計画した。地盤が悪い地域なので建物自体を軽量化し、杭を有効に活用した。将来、地域の店舗エリア拡大に伴う用途変更ができる建築を目指し、床・壁・天井を可能な限り吹き抜けとし計画した(軽量化)。現在は用途を集合住宅として運営しているが、躯体(スケルトン)が建築として完成である。数年後、数十年後の街の変化に対応し、再び完成時の躯体(スケルトン)に戻り共同住宅から物販飲 食事務所へと用途変更(コンバ ージョン)していくことが、門前町として栄えた商店文化を尊重し、時代と共にあるべき形へと変化し建築を継承するのだ。

Preserving the maximal evolutive potential for the next decades and hundreds of years.
Located in the midst of a prosperous shopping district, the project is inscribed into the long history of a Monzen Nakamachi, which is used to describe towns originally built around a temple or shrine. The neighborhood is still bearing the historical background through a lively shopping district, leading to the train station. We chose to consider, as a main priority, the prospect of the district development, particularly through its commercial aspect. The presence of small detached houses congregated around the site and its closeness to the station are guiding the project site to the likely expansion of local store areas.
Facing different constraints, such as a fire-prevention area and an unfavorable soil, the scheme is constituted of 4 stories above ground, and the main structure has been lightened to reduce the weight (ceilings, walls, floors). As a result, the skeleton presents large open spaces which will participate to offer an evolutive building and, in extend, could be easily converted from apartment house to product sales / bar-restaurant / office.
By valuing the commercial history of the monzen town, we strive to inscribe the project into a local heritage and be part of the historical timeline.
